Employee was strangled during altercation: police

Sault Ste. Marie Police say an employee was strangled Friday night during a brawl.

Officers were called to a business in the 200 block of Goulais Avenue at around 6 p.m.

“An investigation revealed the accused got into an altercation with an employee at the business and strangled them,” said police in a news release.

Bruce Swanson, 64, has been charged with assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate, or strangle.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
