Dashcam footage shared on social media records the moment a large fireball bursts into the Thursday evening sky at 7.31pm.
A dozen emergency vehicles are currently at the scene on Groundwell Industrial Estate battling the aftermath of the explosion which was seen and felt around the town.
Wiltshire Search and Rescue and Swindon Borough Council are working with the emergency services to coordinate their response to the incident.
A large cordon is in place and Cricklade Road between Queensfield and Thamesdown Drive is currently closed.
