Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announced that he is committed to passing a law limiting the term of prime ministers in the next government and has set this as a condition for joining the government. In a statement released on his behalf, it was written that if elected, he would pass the decision in the first meeting of the next government as part of the “Stabilization Plan for Israel.” According to the proposal, a prime minister would be able to serve for only two terms or eight years. It was also reported that alongside the Basic Law: Term Limitation, a decision would also be brought to establish a state commission of inquiry into the October 7 massacre.
