Suspension decision to be handed down for bump on Francis Evans in Melbourne vs Carlton that caused concussion

As predicted, both parties are now discussing Fremantle captain Alex Pearce.

Pearce successfully challenged a three-game suspension at a tribunal in May and was cleared of rough conduct.

The Dockers skipper clashed in a marking contest with Port Adelaide’s Darcy Byrne-Jones, who was concussed.

Anderson compares May’s case to Pearce’s successful win.

He says May’s attempts to win the ball was “entirely realistic” and said May “did attempt to slow”.

Anderson says Melbourne fundamentally disagrees with the AFL’s position that Evans was going to get to the ball first.
