The European Broadcasting Union announced that the vote on Israel’s expulsion from Eurovision will be held in November. The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation “Kan” stated that “expelling Israel’s public broadcaster could have significant consequences. It is no coincidence that the EBU regulations clearly stipulate that such extraordinary decisions require a majority of no less than 75% of General Assembly participants.” They further added: “We are confident that the European Broadcasting Union will continue to maintain the non-political, professional and cultural character of the competition, especially on the eve of Eurovision’s 70th anniversary.”
