A man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle late Thursday night in Scarborough, police say.
Emergency crews were called to the Kingston Road and Lawrence Avenue East area around 11:15 p.m. for reports of an adult male struck by a vehicle.
Paramedics confirmed that the man was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Police tell 680 NewsRadio that the victim is a 63-year-old man who was cutting across the road when he was struck by the driver of the vehicle, who then fled the area.
Authorities say the vehicle, described as a pickup truck, was found abandoned overnight. The driver has not been located, police noted.
