A man in his 40s has been airlifted to University Hospital Galway after suffering serious injuries in an incident in Tuam, Co Galway this afternoon.
Gardai say that shortly after 3pm they were alerted to a public order incident involving a group of individuals on Dublin Road.
“During the course of the disturbance, a man in his 40s sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to University Hospital Galway,” a Garda spokesperson said.
“His condition is currently understood to be stable.”

An investigation into the incident is now underway.
Investigating gardaí are appealing to anyone who was on Dublin Road, Tuam between 3pm and 3.15pm to come forward.
They are also seeking any camera footage from the area during that time.
