“Overall, I thought we were outstanding in the second half, I really do. In the first half they had a bit of control without creating too much – they had a couple of moments.
“I thought we had a real grip on the game in the second half and we controlled it with and without the ball. I thought we showed so much personality and quality with the ball, barring that final action.
“To concede in the way that we did without being opened up or there being a moment of brilliance from them is tough to take. It’s not something we can accept. It’s something we want to improve.
“I’m not here just for good performances and deserving to win. I’m here, and everyone here at this football club, is here to win and we’re not happy when we don’t, especially when we play so well and deserve so much more.
“It was a difficult night and we’re all extremely disappointed not to win.
“Right now, there’s still so much emotion. I’m devastated for the lads because they worked so hard and I’m angry. We had a clear plan and everyone executed it and we deserved so much more.
“I can’t stand in front of the lads and tell them it was a really good performance and we’re so happy with it because I want to win and I want the players to want to win. I want everyone to understand what it takes to win and it’s something we need to improve on.
“Performances aren’t enough. We have so much belief, but we need to continue to work and continue to believe.”
