Conservative campaigner Maria Steen has said carrying a handbag with an estimated cost between €10,000 and €40,000 as she spoke to the media after her unsuccessful presidential bid was “deliberate”.
The barrister and architect, who is a mother-of-five, came just two nominations short of the necessary 20 to secure a place on the presidential ballot this week.
