It’s Selena Gomez and Benny Bianco’s big wedding weekend, and it’s expected to be an A-list affair! The guests will also be treated to a luxurious stay in the Santa Barbara, California area, but it will be a vastly different experience for Taylor Swift.
While Gomez and Blanco’s family and friends will be staying at the elite El Encanto resort, Swift will be away from the rest of the crowd, per Page Six. It’s a security issue for the 35-year-old singer. “She will be renting a house near the wedding venue, which is a secret to the public,” a source told the media outlet. “Her security team feels it’s better than a hotel.”

It might be a disappointing development for Swift, who would probably love to stay with all the other Hollywood celebrities, but she has been facing serious security threats recently. On Sept. 15, Justin Lee Fisher was arrested for trespassing onto Travis Kelce’s Leawood, Kansas, home in an attempt to serve Swift deposition documents in the Justin Baldoni-Blake Lively case, according to Star Magazine. He was arrested for trespassing.

In addition to that scare, the “Shake It Off” singer was also granted a five-year restraining order against Brian Jason Wagner, who has allegedly been stalking her Los Angeles home. He claimed to be the father of her child, even though Swifties all know she is currently not a mom. That’s why staying at a hotel makes Swift more vulnerable — there are too many entrances and exits, along with the volume of guests and employees, to guarantee her safety.
The issue with Wagner is likely why Swift’s security team is making her comings and goings at Arrowhead Stadium much different from prior seasons. At the Sept. 14 game, TMZ reported that she used a “bullet-resistant portable shield to evade detection” going in and out of Kelce’s suite. Swift has to take her level of security seriously!
While the other A-list guests at Gomez and Blanco’s wedding can freely roam the property, Swift and her security team have to be thinking about her safety every step of the way.
