Erling Haaland (£14.3m) delivered in style in Gameweek 6 of Fantasy Premier League, in a weekend where more than 812,000 managers played their Triple Captain chip, the most EVER in a single Gameweek.

The only three occasions when the chip has been used in greater numbers in FPL history have been Double Gameweeks, when clubs have TWO Premier League fixtures in a Gameweek.

Haaland was selected by 88 per cent of those managers who used the chip, and justified that backing.

The Norwegian scored two goals – both of them coming after the 89th minute – and also got an assist. Including the three bonus points he received, Haaland produced a a 16-point haul – and a massive 48 with the Triple Captain chip.

It continues Haaland’s excellent home record against promoted teams. He has returned in each of his six starts against such opponents, averaging 11.8 points per match.

Mohamed Salah (£14.5m) was the most-popular differential, Triple-Captained by 18,566 Fantasy managers for Liverpool’s trip to Crystal Palace, but he blanked in the Reds’ 2-1 defeat.

Joao Pedro (£7.8m) was third in the Triple Captain stakes, with 12,213 using the chip on him for Chelsea‘s home encounter with his former club, Brighton & Hove Albion. He also blanked.
