Penrith’s reign is over, but the dynasty still lives
With this loss, Penrith’s incredible run of consecutive finals wins, and premierships, comes to an end.
For the first time since 2019, the Panthers will not be in the grand final.
For the first time since the 2021 decider, they will not be called premiers.
The Panthers’ reign as champions is over. But the Penrith dynasty is not.
They may not have been the best team of 2025, but they were not far off from it.
Only Nostradamus could confidently say the Panthers will not win next season.
They are a champion team. The bulk of their squad is either in their prime or still to reach their peak.
They’ll be back in 2026, but they will return as the hunters.

Adam Reynolds speaks to Fox League after kicking Brisbane to a grand final
Brisbane’s captain Adam Reynolds has just spoken to Fox League.
Reynolds kicked the match-winning goal, his only attempt at goal in the match.
He was asked about why he only took one kick, and it was because of his hamstring.
“It was the hamstring. It was a little bit tight there, so I didn’t want to overdo it,” Walsh says.
“Reecy’s been hitting them sweet the last couple of weeks, but he missed that last one and so I put my hand up.
“It’s just belief. Got to make sure you believe it.”

Reece Walsh talks to the Nine Network
Reece Walsh has just spoken to the Nine Network following Brisbane’s 16-14 win over the Penrith Panthers.
Walsh had the two attempts at goal tonight, but with the match on the line, Adam Reynolds took the kick from the right touchline.
Walsh was asked about that decision.
“That’s his moment, mate. He’s built for it,” Walsh says.
“There’s been a lot of talk about our little general mate, and that’s the reason why he’s in our bloody team for those moments right there.
“I was bloody cheering, but I knew we weren’t done.
“Nathan, Isaah Yeo, Dylan Edwards. They’ve got so much fight in them. We really had to fight for 80 minutes to get that job done.”
