Armed police in Sheil Road, Kensington
A 78-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of threatening to kill a delivery driver while being armed with a BB gun. On Saturday evening (September 27), Merseyside Police were contacted at around 5.35pm following an incident in the Kensington area of Liverpool. The force was called after officers received reports of a resident in Sheil Road being seen in possession of a firearm.
The same resident was then seen to make threats towards a delivery driver who was working in the area. Armed police officers were deployed to the area and a man was arrested.
Merseyside Police have today confirmed that the man who was arrested was 78 and is from the Kensington area.
A BB gun was seized. No injuries were reported in the incident.

The elderly man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and threats to kill.
He was taken to a police station and has been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries.
A video has been shared on social media site TikTok, which shows a number of police cars parked across Sheil Road in Kensington.
In the clip, armed officers can be seen with weapons emerging from the police vehicles.
