Police addressed the violent confrontations between officers and ultra-Orthodox protesters from the Jerusalem faction at the entrance to the city, during which officers were filmed stepping on protesters’ heads. The entrance to the city is still blocked and confrontations continue. According to police, this is a case of public disorder and illegal protest, and the confrontations began when “the rioters violently attacked the officers and threw bottles at them.” It was also reported that police are still working to restore order.
