A fire engine and a Dublin Bus were badly damaged and several firefighters and a bus driver were taken to hospital after a crash in Dublin city centre on Sunday.

Gardaí and paramedics attended the scene on Mount Street, Dublin 2, after a Dublin Fire Brigade engine was involved in the crash on Sunday afternoon.

The incident saw the front of the fire engine significantly damaged following a collision with the bus, which also sustained serious damage around its centre doors.

There were no passengers on the bus, and it is understood several firefighters as well as the bus driver suffered injuries that are not believed to be serious.
