IDF Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, sent a secret document to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz warning against the planned operations in Gaza City. This was reported by Network News. The document, which was sent several weeks ago and addressed military operations that have since begun in the city, was delivered to Netanyahu and Katz by hand. According to the report, the Chief of Staff warned the two that IDF soldiers are returning to the same places without a political purpose; that Israel refuses to find an alternative to Hamas in the Gaza Strip; that every military action requires political completion; and added that the operational activities endanger the hostages whose condition is deteriorating.
