A major police operation unfolded at a busy shopping precinct in Melbourne’s CBD following a pursuit.
The pursuit ended at the Bourke St Mall about 1.20pm on Monday.
7NEWS understands a car was stolen by a group of teens armed with machetes who drove the vehicle down the shopping strip at speed.

Police said a “number of people” had been arrested.
“We will provide further information when it comes to hand but there have been no injuries during the incident and there is no threat to the community,” police said.
Officers remain at the scene.
Route 96 and 86 trams have been delayed due to the incident.
