During the Depth Command change of command ceremony, the outgoing commander, Maj. Gen. Nimrod Aloni, delivered a harsh speech that included sharp criticism of the army and IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, who was present at the event. Aloni said: “I am leaving an army where the concept of responsibility has been trampled and desecrated, and which has lost its confidence to put its failures on the table.”
