Drivers faced traffic misery on the M62 and the M6 after a crash partially closed the M62 this morning. One lane was closed on the M62 eastbound near junction 11 at Birchwood, near Warrington, with traffic building to junction 8. 

Queues also formed on the M6 southbound approaching junction 21A for the M62, with traffic backing up to junction 22 at Winwick. A post from the Inrix traffic monitoring service said: “Queueing traffic and one lane closed due to accident on M62 Eastbound after J11 A574 Birchwood Way (Birchwood). Lane four (of four).”
