Police have concluded a massive police operation in Sydney’s south-west following reports that four people stormed a home, with one of the individuals being armed.

Around 7am, police received reports that up to four people stormed a home on Wollongbar Avenue in Panania, with witnesses saying that one was holding a gun.

Shortly after, police reviewed CCTV footage and confirmed that the four people had fled the area and that there were no occupants in the home.

“We were just taking the dog for a walk, and we walked past here. There were SWAT trucks, people with armed guns, big guns,” a witness said.

Aerial footage has shown multiple emergency service vehicles, including multiple armoured police vehicles and tactical operations units, parked out front of a home in Panania.

Police forces from the Central Coast and the tactical unit were involved in the operation, as people inside a childcare on the street were told to stay indoors.

“My kids go to the daycare there in Wollongbar Avenue, so we got a notification that the daycare has been in lockdown,” said a parent.
