The London-based Arabic newspaper “Asharq Al-Awsat” reported that Hamas and Palestinian factions are facing a dilemma regarding their position on the new “Trump plan.” According to Hamas sources, the movement does not intend to reject the plan entirely, but rather consider partial acceptance with modifications – mainly on issues related to hostage release, Israeli withdrawal and security arrangements. Sources in other factions view the plan as a “picture of defeat.” According to the report, discussions may conclude within days, and an official response might be delivered to mediators as early as today, with the aim of trying to formulate a unified Palestinian position.
