Thomas Müller can do no wrong.

The 36-year-old German football star has been a revelation in Vancouver ever since his first game for the club back on Aug. 17.

He’s come as advertised on the pitch, punctuated by scoring a hat trick on his birthday. Müller has also been great with the media, dropping both hilarious and thought-provoking moments.

On Wednesday night, he earned some incredible personal achievements as the Vancouver Whitecaps won their fourth straight Canadian Championship, 4-2 over Vancouver FC.

That ties the Whitecaps with Toronto FC for the most consecutive Canadian Championship titles ever. It’s the longest streak since Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal each entered MLS.

Müller set up Ali Ahmed for a goal five minutes in, before scoring in the 10th minute for the Whitecaps.

That goal stood at the 300th of his illustrious career. It was also his fifth goal in five games played for the Whitecaps.

When the game ended and Müller had helped the Whitecaps earn the Voyageurs Cup, it stood as his 35th trophy ever.

That mark has him standing alone as the most decorated German footballer of all time.

Before the match, Müller was tied with Toni Kroos for the best mark among German players, but the Voyagers Cup win has put him over the top. He can add it to his trophy case alongside 13 Bundesliga titles, two Champions League crowns, and a World Cup win for Germany in 2014.

This win was expected for Müller and the Whitecaps. They are currently one of the best teams in the MLS, while Vancouver FC ranks at the bottom of the Canadian Premier League, despite some scrappy wins that vaulted them into this final.

Not only was Müller setting records and milestones, but he also showed his class late in this match.

Whitecaps star Ryan Gauld returned to the pitch for the first time since March. He subbed on for Müller in the 79th minute, during which the German star took off the captain’s band, handing it to Gauld. Müller hugged Gauld before the Scottish footballer jogged onto the pitch.

Perhaps some Müller magic rubbed off on Gauld, who scored just four minutes into his return to the lineup.

With another Voyageurs Cup secured, the Whitecaps continue to look ahead to the playoffs. They have three regular-season games remaining, with the San Jose Earthquakes coming up next at BC Place on Sunday, Oct. 5.
