The Supreme Court decided not to issue a conditional order regarding petitions against the appointment of Maj. Gen. (res.) David Lazini as head of the Shin Bet, allowing him to assume his position on Sunday. In the court’s decision, Supreme Court Justice Khaled Kabub wrote: “After considering the claims in the petitions against the issue at hand, and reviewing the material presented to me – I did not find it appropriate to issue interim orders that would prevent the appointment from taking effect.” It was also decided that a follow-up hearing on the petitions will be scheduled by the end of November.
