A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man whose remains were found in Loch Lomond.

Graham Wright, 38, was last seen in the Gorbals area of Glasgow on 20 August. His remains were found at the Rubha Dubh, near Firkin Point, on 13 September.

Police Scotland said Mr Wright’s family had been informed of the arrest and were being supported by specially-trained officers.

The force said “extensive” inquiries were ongoing.

The latest arrest comes a day after a 53-year-old man appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

John Roarty was remanded in custody and will appear in court again within the next seven days.

A charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice can include crimes where the accused has given false information or made efforts to destroy or hide evidence.
