Three people have been arrested in connection with a robbery and a two-vehicle collision in Mississauga in July that left four children and a woman seriously injured.
Peel police said the incident began at a gym on Winston Churchill Boulevard, south of Highway 403, on the afternoon of July 3.
The two occupants of a Range Rover were allegedly involved in an armed robbery in the gym’s parking lot.
Police said after fleeing the area, the Range Rover, for unknown reasons, began following a red Ford Mustang.
“Both the black Range Rover and the red Mustang were observed driving erratically and at high rates of speed,” police said.
Just after 4 p.m., in the area of Ninth Line and Erin Centre Boulevard, the Range Rover collided with a Honda Civic, which had five occupants.

“The two suspects in the Range Rover fled the scene on foot without making any attempt to check on the well-being of the individuals involved in the crash,” police said.
All five were taken to the hospital. Police said the children’s ages range between nine and 12. They added that the woman is the mother of two of the children and the other two are their friends.
On Friday, three months after the crash, investigators announced they apprehended the two occupants of the Range Rover, 18-year-old Daijuan Buchanan from Brampton and 22-year-old Jahzvi Smith from Mississauga.
They’ve both been charged with robbery, unauthorized possession of a firearm, being an occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and use of a firearm while committing an offence.
Buchanan is facing additional charges of failure to stop after an accident, failure to comply with a release order and five counts of dangerous operation causing bodily harm. Smith has also been charged with pointing a firearm.
The driver of the Mustang, identified as 28-year-old Jashanpreet Singh, was also arrested, police said. He has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. The charges have not been tested in court.
