With a long list of players waived today, Kämpf is not theonly Leafs player on the list as Marlies defender William Villeneuve is also being waived to join the Marlies. Today also marks the first day multiple claims were made by other teams.

Three #NHL waiver claims on Friday:

D Daemon Hunt (CBJ➡️MIN)
D Ilya Solovyov (CGY➡️COL)
F Cole Schwindt (VGK➡️FLA)

Note: If Kämpf clears, there is no obligation to assign him to the Marlies. The Leafs can keep him on the NHL roster for 29 days or 9 games played (whichever comes first) starting on the opening day of the regular season, and then assign him without waivers again.
