If you’re a current WWE Superstar, you might want to be careful what you say about Roman Reigns in an interview.

Former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle was a recent guest on TMZ Inside The Ring. During the interview, Riddle revealed that his comments about Roman Reigns in an interview several years ago got him a lot of heat with the Tribal Chief.

“Oh, dude. He flipped out,” Matt Riddle revealed. “He texted me, ‘Not cool, dude.’ And I was like, ‘Oh shit.’ I apologized. So I wrote this long apology. I go, ‘Randy, how does this look?’ He goes, ‘Nah, this isn’t right.’ He fixes the text. He goes, ‘here,’ and it was basically like, ‘My bad, bro, maybe we’ll work someday soon.’ We’ve worked since then. The guy loves me. I would beat him in a fight, though. For those unaware, Matt Riddle was interviewed while working for WWE back in 2021, where he claimed he could beat Roman Reigns in a real fight. This is the incident he’s referring to.

Back in August, Riddle also spoke with TMZ, where he claimed wrestlers in WWE, like Goldberg and CM Punk, have an issue with him just because he’s speaking the truth.

“The thing is, I’ve noticed this, even with Bill Goldberg and certain people I’ve rubbed the wrong way,” Matt Riddle said. “Even Roman Reigns at one point I rubbed the wrong way, they get really angry when you spit facts. So if I say you’re hard to work with and you can’t fight, CM Punk gets really mad.

“When I say Goldberg, you’re a terrible wrestler and you injure people, he gets mad. They asked me to talk crap about Roman. I told everybody, ‘Hey, you might beat me in the ring, but if we were in a cage or in the street, I’d beat the hell out of him.’ He knows that and I know that and everybody else knows that. From what I’ve noticed, and it’s crazy because we’re in this world of sports entertainment, a lot of people get really angry and really uncomfortable with the truth.
