Broadcaster Jo Yeong-gu revealed the story of losing 5.6 billion won.
On the 4th, Jo Yeong-gu appeared on the YouTube channel ‘Kim Hyun-wook’s News, Not a Drink.’
He remarked, “It’s been tough lately because there’s not much work. I lent 3.5 billion won to others and haven’t been able to get it back.”
He continued, “I believe I’ll eventually get the 3.5 billion won I lent. It’s not a total loss. These people are going through tough times, but I think they’ll overcome them.”
He added, “These days, I pray for their success.”
When host Kim Hyun Wook mentioned that he lost 2.1 billion won in stocks and asked, “So, with the 3.5 billion you lent, that totals 5.6 billion won?” Jo Yeong-gu nodded in response.
He expressed his frustration, saying, “There are so many people asking to borrow money, it’s driving me crazy. I don’t have any money.”

He also mentioned that he has been investing in stocks all his life. Jo Yeong-gu said, “Out of 2.5 billion won, only 450 million won was left. I should have bought land with that money,” expressing his regret.
He candidly shared, “When I first started investing in stocks, I put in 20 million won, and in just two weeks, I made 10 million won. I thought, ‘Making money is this easy.’ That was my first mistake.”
Jo Yeong-gu debuted in 1994 as the first open recruitment professional MC at Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) and has worked as a reporter and professional MC on various programs.
In 2007, he married show host Shin Jae-eun, and they have a son together.
