There are a few Jets fans in the crowd tonight who are glad it’s Heidelberg they’re up against and not one of Victoria’s A-League sides.

Novocastrian Peter Dixon is a season member of the Jets, but his son-in-law Jack Duncan is a goalkeeper for Melbourne Victory.

“We would have to go with the family I think,” Peter said when asked who he’d be supporting if the Jets had been up against Victory tonight.

The Jets are set to face the Central Coast two weeks from now to kick off the next A-League season. Peter may be there, although his daughter is due to give birth soon, so he’s not sure.

The jury remains undecided on who the child will support, but Peter said he is more than happy to buy the child a Jets shirt.
