Canvassing continues today in the presidential election, with Fianna Fáil’s Jim Gavin, Independent Catherine Connolly and Fine Gael’s Heather Humphreys meeting voters across the country.
In exactly three weeks’ time votes will begin to be counted in the election, but for now though, those votes are still up for grabs.
All three presidential candidates are continuing to canvass support in what may be a crucial campaign weekend.
Ms Humphreys is due to travel to Galway to canvass voters after attending events in Roscommon, Longford and Westmeath yesterday.
Mr Gavin will this afternoon focus his canvassing on north Dublin after meeting with voters in Kilkenny yesterday.
Ms Connolly will begin her canvass in Cork before travelling to Galway for the Gala 4 Gaza event this evening.
Tomorrow, RTÉ’s The Week in Politics programme will hold the second TV debate in the campaign so far – a debate that comes on the same day as the first newspaper poll of the presidential race.
