A school bus driver has been flown to hospital with serious crush injuries after a crash in western Victoria this morning.

The 56-year-old woman was trapped after the crash between the mini-bus and a truck on a sweeping bend at the intersection of the Warracknabeal-Stawell road and Minyip-Dimboola road near Minyip, north-east of Horsham, about 8.45am.

Three children on board the bus were on their way to the local special school when the crash occurred, and were taken to the local hospital for observation.

The B-double truck loaded with hay bales rolled in the crash and was leaking diesel.

Horsham Police Acting Inspector Cameron Ross said speed may have been a factor.

“It was quite a chaotic scene initially,” he said.

“The truck driver has been taken to hospital and he is assisting us with our inquiries,” Acting Inspector Ross said.
