Kettlewell ‘wasn’t expecting routine victory’published at 17:24 BST

FT: Kilmarnock 2-0 St Mirren
Kilmarnock manager Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Scotland: “We were the better team. It was really difficult for both teams in the early part of the game to try and get a foot on the ball and have some sort of quality.
“The first goal is the real catalyst for us to get going. We found a space when St Mirren jumped out, Bruce (Anderson) does really well and we keep seeing David Watson’s energy, week after week, to get on the end of it.
“The second is especially pleasing. We just managed the game really well, had the better chances in the second half and it could’ve been more.
“If I’m honest, I wasn’t expecting to stand here with as routine a victory as it was, because those teams are really close, but credit to the players.”
