Balazs Toth – 8
Pulled off a number of good saves to keep the score at 1-0. In particular, from Manhoef, who was dangerous throughout.
Ryan Alebiosu – 7
Really good defensively if slightly less effective in the final third. Made one goal-saving tackle to deny Thomas.
Lewis Miller – 7
Better performance at centre-back. A couple of important headers and interceptions.
Sean McLoughlin – 7
Unlucky with the deflection that looped Manhoef’s shot over the goalkeeper. Some important headers from set-pieces.
Yuri Ribeiro – 4
Had a really tough afternoon against Manhoef. Allowed his man to get goal-side for the goal and looked nervous when the Stoke forward ran at him.
Taylor Gardner-Hickman – 7
Punched some clever passes into Cantwell from deep. Grew into the game second half.
Sondre Tronstad – 7
Quiet in the first half but then his influence grew after the break. One shot from range which wasn’t far away.
Ryoya Morishita – 5
Wasn’t involved in the match at all for the second time this week. Taken off around the hour.
Todd Cantwell – 8
Rovers’ best player once again. If anything positive was going to happen, it was through him. Kept the ball alive fantastically well for the equaliser.
Ryan Hedges – 6
Brighter when he went to left-back, arriving from deeper. Some nice link up with De Neve.
Andri Gudjohnsen – 5
Had one good opportunity but didn’t control the ball well enough and it bounced off him. Worked hard but had to do better with his big chance.
Substitutes:
Augustus Kargbo (59′) – 7
Took the goal really well. Good first touch and composure to sweep it into the corner.
Yuki Ohashi (59′) – 6
Proved a nuisance after coming on but no real sight at goal.
Dion De Neve (68′) – 7
Really lively down the left. Had one shot saved by Johansson and caused a lot of issues.
Makhtar Gueye (90′) – N/A
Came on for a couple of minutes in stoppage time
Unused substitutes: Pears, Wharton, Pickering, Montgomery, Henriksson.
