Having marked his 200th Premier League appearance by getting on the scoresheet against West Ham United, Bukayo Saka revealed that his recent injury issues have made the milestone even sweeter.
Bukayo fired home a penalty to put the seal on our 2-0 win against the Hammers and clinch a fourth-straight win in all competitions as we begin to find our groove, as does our winger as he attempts to put his hamstring issues behind him that have affected his early-season availability.
The 24-year-old also reached a century of goal involvements in the top-flight, giving him a nice symmetrical 100 in 200, and he wants to savour the moment for a short whole before football moves on again and he’s back on England duty.
“There’s a lot to celebrate – a beautiful win, another goal and 200 [Premier League] appearances as well,” he said post-match. “So, happy days. “I’m very proud, I don’t take these moments for granted, especially the last few months when I’ve had to miss games and watch from the stands as I’ve been injured. I’m going to enjoy it tonight and come back after the break ready to go again.
“I just want to give my best, give my best for my teammates and try and push this club to win.”

Another thing that will please Bukayo over the coming days will be the fact he managed to complete the full game for just the second time this season, and the first since the opening day win against Manchester United.
He now hopes to keep building that fitness up on Three Lions duty over the next fortnight before the next set of Gunners games, and with us fighting right at the top of the table and progressing nicely in the Champions League and Carabao Cup our winger feels we’re beginning to hit a nice groove early in the campaign.
“I’m feeling good that I’ve got the 90 minutes out of the way now,” he added. “Towards the end, I’m a bit tired if I’m honest, but that’s normal. But, yeah, I’m happy to get the 90 minutes in my legs and get a win and go away to England, because I’ve had to miss a lot of games for the national team too. So, I’m happy to be back there.
“We’ve had some really tough fixtures, some tough away fixtures. But I think we can be happy with what we have now going into the break, and we’re in a strong position to come back and push on to the end of the season.”
