Debbie, David and son Mitchell Crebbin drove to Sydney from Brisbane on Friday morning, stopping over in Newcastle to support the Broncos in the final, even though they think the best match finished when the full-time whistle blew during last week’s preliminary final when the Broncos saw an end to Penrith’s chance of winning a fifth straight premiership.

“That was better than us winning the final,” David (53) said.

For son Mitchell, 24, tonight’s premiership is a chance to see his favourite Bronco, Reece Walsh.

“He’s Indigenous and Māori, he plays really good, and we look alike,” he laughed.

While mum, Debbie (53), loves Payne Haas. “Even though he’s NSW for Origin, when he’s playing for us, his heart is on his sleeve,” she said.

Debbie is also looking forward to supporting the Bronco’s NRLW side in their final and the Burleigh Bears in the State Championship. If Debbie gets her way, it’ll be a Queensland sweep.

“We’re going to annihilate all of them,” she said.
