Woman pinned under TTC bus at Royal York Station dies

One woman has died after police say she was pinned under a bus at a TTC station in Toronto’s west end.

It happened just before 1:20 p.m. near Bloor Street West and Royal York Road.

Police say there were reports that the woman was pinned under a vehicle in the bus bay area at Royal York Station.

In the statement released Monday afternoon, TTC CEO Mandeep S. Lali said the transit commission is “heartbroken.”

“We are working closely with the Toronto Police Service as they investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident,” Lali said.

“The safety of our customers, employees, and the public is our highest priority, and we are committed to fully supporting the investigation.”
