The Toronto Blue Jays are in New York ahead of Game 3 of the American League Division Series (ALDS) following back-back-beatdowns of the Yankees this weekend.

Toronto has been dominant two games into the best-of-five series, beating New York 10-1 in Game 1 on Saturday and 13-7 in Game 2 on Sunday.

The Jays are now one win away from sweeping last year’s American League winners and advancing to the American League Championship Series for the first time since 2016.

Manager John Schneider, first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and shortstop Andrés Giménez spoke to reporters at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.

Here’s what they said:

2:15 p.m. – Schneider on playing at Yankee Stadium

“We’ve played here quite a bit over the years, and this year, I think it’ll be, it’ll be a loud crowd. It’ll be an energized crowd. You know, it’s obviously a very passionate fan base, but I think you have to worry about what you’re trying to do against Carlos Rodón tomorrow. You know, that’s one of the things, one of the many things, I love about this team, you know, is just kind of focusing on what’s important now, and it’ll be a fun atmosphere. I know that, but I don’t think it makes it different than anywhere else we play in the post season.”

2:11 p.m. – Schneider admits he’s been watching other playoff games

“I’ve watched, yeah, I’ve watched a few. Not catching every pitch every single time, but definitely watching how, you know, how teams are, how they’re playing, who’s being used, where you know, kind of what some strategy may be, what lineups look like, and things like that, but way more focused on the team over there (the Yankees).”

2:08 p.m. – ‘He’s a leader’: Schneider reacts to George Springer’s success

“He is infectious. He’s a leader. Just his track record. I think guys gravitate towards him because of what he’s accomplished in this game, so that, I think when he’s going good man, he can really be the straw that stirs it.”

2:06 p.m. – On facing the Yankees: ‘The series is far from over’

“The series is far from over. You know, we’re coming into a tough place, to play against a really good pitcher and a really good team. So I think you try to stay ahead of those situations and you want to try to just be yourself.”

2:04 p.m. – Bo Bichette still ‘progressing’ amid injury

“He’s still progressing. You know, he’s back in Toronto. He’s still progressing, trying to ramp up, do everything he can to kind of continue to get himself ready. But there’s no you know like glaring update with him, it’s just kind of moving on to the next step in his process.”

1:54 p.m. – Vladimir Guerrero Jr. says he calls his father, a former member of the Montreal Expos, before and after every game

“I talk to my dad. I also talk to my mom. I mean, I do it every day. I talk to them before the game and after the game every single day, regardless of the outcome of the game, if I did good, if I did bad, I feel like I need their blessing every day, so I make sure that every morning or evening, before I come to the park, I talk to both of them, and then after.”

1:52 p.m. – George Springer ‘like my older brother’: Guerrero

“He’s somebody that I look up to. I mean, George is, for me, is like my older brother here… He’s been in this position many times. I mean, I have a lot of respect for him. I’m very proud of what he has done in his career. But like I say, he’s a leader too, and it’s like my older brother.”

1:51 p.m. – Preparing to face Carlos Rodón

“He’s an excellent pitcher, excellent human being. A guy that goes out there and gives it all he has, goes out there and competes. But, you know, we just got to do the same thing. Go out there and do the same thing, go out and compete.”

1:50 p.m. – ‘I just feel good’: Guerrero on why he hits the Yankees so well

“To be honest with you, I don’t know. I mean, I’ve been asked that question many times, and I always say, ‘I just feel good.’ I can’t really tell you why.”

1:48 p.m. – ‘It’s not time to celebrate’: Guerrero

“My emotions are neutral right now. I mean, it’s not time to celebrate. It’s (also) not time to put your head down. I mean, it’s not over. There’s a lot of job, a lot of work to do still. Until we win the third game, then I’ll guess our emotion will be different. We’ll celebrate.”

1:47 p.m. – On front office moves putting this lineup together

“Excellent job from our front office in acquiring players with a lot of experience, already in the big leagues, and players that have been helping us a lot. So a great job for our front office.”

1:46 p.m. – ‘Those are my guys’: Guerrero says of team success in Game 1, 2

“Those are my guys. We’ve been doing it the whole year. I mean, like I always say, we always trust each other and I really like the way we’ve been playing together.”

1:35 p.m. – George Springer a ‘great leader’: Andrés Giménez

“It’s amazing. You know, I got the opportunity to work out in the offseason with him. Know him a little bit better. He’s a great leader, (great) man in the clubhouse. He’s one of those leaders that is really both off and on the field as well. So I’m really glad to play with George.”

1:33 p.m. – On Shane Bieber starting Game 3

“He’s gonna compete, for sure. He’s a great competitor. He’s a great pitcher. Tomorrow, he’s gonna compete for sure. He’s gonna go there and try to dominate and try to give us the best opportunity for us to score runs, and hopefully we win.”

1:32 p.m. – Giménez on playing shortstop in Bo Bichette’s absence

“Through my minor league career, I played shortstop the whole time. But honestly, I’ve been feeling good since last month. I’ve been feeling good.”

1:30 p.m. – ‘Everyone contributes to those wins’: Giménez

“Everyone contributes to those wins…I really like the first two games. But obviously, you know, we have to keep it consistent, because we got a couple games left,” Giménez said when he was asked about the Jays first two wins.
