Cameron Munster is the latest NRL player to be targeted to make a rugby switch, with both Rugby Australia and R360 interested in his services — and he isn’t the only Storm star with a looming contract decision.
According to Code Sports, Munster was approached by a third-party with Rugby Australia links in the weeks leading up to the NRL grand final on Sunday.
R360, meanwhile, have reportedly added Munster to their hit list of targets, which includes Payne Haas, Zac Lomax, Jye Gray and Melbourne teammate Ryan Papenhuyzen.

The 31-year-old is reportedly interested in the rebel rugby competition’s proposal, which could see him earn a mammoth payday to make the switch to the 15-man code.
His current contract, which expires at the end of the 2027 season, earns him around $1.15 million per-season.
Munster knocked back a mammoth $6 million, four-year deal to become the Dolphins’ marquee signing in 2023, but eventually took a lesser salary to remain at the Storm.
The Perth Bears have also reportedly identified Munster as a target, and his manager Braith Anasta revealed he is open to that move.
“We haven’t been formally contacted by R360 but we have heard murmurs. Yes, there could be some interest in him,” Anasta said.
“Right now, Cameron is open to the Perth Bears.
“I know the Perth Bears are interested in him. They are open to signing him.
“Cameron hasn’t said I want to go to Perth, but the Storm are planning ahead and by the time he is off-contract again, they might not be able to afford him.”
Meanwhile, Munster’s Storm teammates Jonah Pezet, Nelson Asofa-Solomona and Ryan Papenhuyzen all have their own contract decisions to make.

According to The Australian’s Brent Read, Papenhuyzen could be granted a release if he agrees to sign with the rebel rugby competition.
“Ryan Papenhuyzen is the other big one, all the talk about R360, if he is going to go to R360 at the end of next year,” Read said.
“I think there’s a school of thought that maybe if you want to go to rugby, go now… they think he is going to R360 at the end of next year.
“I don’t think Paps has had his best year, I think we can all see that. I think he has looked down all year, I can even say he has looked distracted at times.”
The star fullback could be handed a multimillion-dollar contract to make the switch, and The Daily Telegraph’s phil Rothfield was happy to let him walk.
“If that’s Melbourne’s stance, if you’re going to R360, give him a cab docket and take him to any airport he wants to go to,” he said.
Meanwhile, Pezet is the next big-name star who could be on the move, with NRL360 host Anasta revealing his client can exercise a clause to make an instant switch.
The young gun halfback has been linked with a host of clubs. including the Raiders, Rabbitohs, Cowboys and Knights.
“Huge couple of weeks, more so Jonah because again with that clause with Jahrome, if we want, we can execute a clause where he is a free agent right now,” Anasta said.

“I don’t know, I have a lot of work to do in the next few weeks.
“I will say this, he loves Melbourne. He went there for a reason, he has loved everything he has done there and it’s positioned him into the player he is now.
“But he’s also more than ready, and he has been so patient and the patience, how long can he keep waiting.”
Elsewhere, front row enforcer Nelson Asofa-Solomona’s time at the Storm could be coming to an immediate end, despite his contract running until the end of 2027.
“It’s a huge off-season for them, I don’t think Nelson (Asofa-Solomona) will be there next year,” Read said.
“I expect him to (leave). I don’t know where he will go, but he won’t be at Melbourne. I think they have been talking to him for a while about it.
“My gut feel is that he won’t be there, I know he has been offered to the Warriors, he was knocked back.”
