A young woman suspected of having drugs for sale and supply is to stand trial at Letterkenny Circuit Court.

Bella Ponsonby appeared before Letterkenny District Court where she faced four charges.

Garda Sergeant Jim Collins told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions indicated that the 22-year-old should be tried by judge and jury in the Circuit Court.

Garda Pauline Doherty gave evidence of serving a book of evidence on the accused who has an address at Ros Suilighe, Oldtown, Letterkenny.

Ms Ponsonby made no reply when the book was served on her.

The accused faces a number of charges.

All charges relate to a date of March 23rd, 2024 at both Letterkenny Garda Station and Tirroddy, Ray, Ramelton.

Ms Ponsonby is charged with possession of cannabis for sale or supply, possession of cannabis and also possession of cocaine.

Legal aid was granted to the accused woman’s solicitor, Mr Patsy Gallagher.

Judge Ciaran Liddy read Ms Ponsonby the alibi warning and adjourned the case until October 28th next.
