The IDF spokesperson announced that the person killed in the accidental shooting in Kiryat Arba was a soldier on leave at home. The soldier was critically wounded by an accidental discharge from a Border Police officer on regular service, who was his friend, and was later pronounced dead. The Police Internal Investigations Department arrested the officer. “The IDF shares the family’s grief and will continue to support them. Following the incident, a joint investigation has been opened by the Military Police Investigation Unit and the Police Internal Investigations Department,” the statement said.
