Germany’s ruling party, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), issued a special statement marking two years since the October 7 massacre, expressing support for Israel and calling for the immediate release of hostages. In the statement, shared by Foreign Minister Gideon Saar on his X account, it said: “We remember all those who lost their lives that day and the hostages. Hamas must lay down its arms and all hostages must be released.”
