A male in his mid teens has been shot in the leg in a suburb south-west of Dublin city.
The incident happened outside a residential property in Bluebell, Dublin 8 shortly after 8.15pm on Monday, October 6.
The male in his mid-teens was transported from the scene to St James’s Hospital, where he is receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Gardai are appealing for anyone with any information to contact Kilmainham Garda Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
In a statement, An Garda Siochana said: “Anyone with information is urged to contact Kilmainham Garda Station at 01 666 9700 or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.”
The shooting of a male in Bluebell was “an attack on the whole community,” a local councillor has said.
Cllr Daithà Doolan said: “Monday night’s shooting in Bluebell was an attack on the whole community. I want to wish the victim a full and speedy recovery.
“It was totally acceptable and should not have happened. Those involved must face justice.
“The Minister for Justice, Jim O’Callaghan, must fully resource Gardaà to make our communities safe. These attacks will only end once the government takes gun crime seriously in our city.
“I strongly encourage anyone with information to contact Garda.”
