— Detroit Tigers (@tigers) October 7, 2025Rain delay in Detroit continues
Detroit — The Tigers and Seattle Mariners were still playing the waiting game Tuesday night.
Game 3 of the American League Division Series still was being delayed by rain as 6 p.m. approached at Comerica Park, with the game expected to be played at some point in the evening.
Fox analysts said during the delay that they were looking at a possible 7:30 p.m. start time.
First pitch originally was scheduled for 4:08 p.m.
The delay was set to create some TV shuffling for Major League Baseball’s Tuesday lineup.
The Tigers-Mariners were supposed to be on FS1, but so were the Yankees-Blue Jays, in Game 3 of their ALDS, set to begin at 8 p.m. Fox announced that Tigers-Mariners would be moved to FS2, and also will be shown on MLB Network.
The Tigers and Mariners are tied, 1-1, in the best-of-five series. Game 4 is Wednesday in Detroit, with Game 5, if necessary, on Friday in Seattle.

Key Game 3 matchups
After the Tigers and Mariners split the first two contests, Game 3 of the ALDS heads to Comerica Park Tuesday as Detroit looks to take control of this evenly-contested matchup.
After winning Game 1 in extras, the Tigers weren’t able to secure a 2-0 series lead as Jorge Polanco hit two solo home runs on starter Tarik Skubal, then Julio Rodríguez hit an RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Mariners took Game 2. Now, Detroit returns to Comerica, where it’s been over a month since they last won at home.
The Tigers will need to find a way to shut down the top of Seattle’s batting order, as Randy Arozarena, Cal Raleigh, Polanco and Rodríguez have combined for 12 of the Mariners’ 14 hits in the first two games. They also need to cure a problem they’ve had all postseason, going a combined 3-for-17 with runners in scoring position.
Jack Flaherty makes his second start of this postseason for the Tigers, giving up just one run and three hits in 4.2 innings from his first start in Game 3 of the Wild Card Series against the Guardians. Logan Gilbert looks to continue the Mariners’ strong pitching in his first start of this postseason.
