Machavit Mayer, aunt of hostages Gali and Ziv Berman, addressed the developments in negotiations for the hostages’ release and said that the family is “very tense, nerves are raw.” According to her, “We’re engaged in an internal struggle between wanting to believe this can happen soon and the fear and concern in light of the disappointments and setbacks we’ve experienced for two years. Our thoughts drift to them – what do they know? What are they feeling? How much do they believe that the nightmare is about to end.”
