Egypt’s presidency announced that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump by phone and congratulated him on his efforts to stop the war. According to the presidency, Trump expressed happiness about the achievement and his friendship with al-Sisi. The Egyptian president emphasized that this is a historic achievement and that Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, saying that “we must move forward with implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreement in all its stages, and emphasized the importance of Trump’s support and patronage in its implementation.” He also invited the American president to participate in celebrations to be held in Egypt marking the signing of the agreement.
