A man has been arrested over the death of a woman in Melbourne’s north.
The 44-year-old woman was found unresponsive inside a home on Gottloh St in Epping about 5.50pm on Thursday.
Police say she had been seriously assaulted.

Paramedics attended the scene however the woman could not be saved.
A 50-year-old man was arrested and will be interviewed by police.
It’s believed the man and woman were known to each other.
“The investigation remains ongoing and police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or who may have CCTV or dash-cam footage,” police said.
