Nic Nemeth drops a load of backstage knowledge about some of his most infamous WWE moments.
Nemeth spoke with Chris Van Vliet on his Insight and reflected on his infamous New Year’s Eve segment. Nemeth, then Dolph Ziggler, thought he was ringing in 2013 with a makeout session with AJ Lee. However, John Cena came out and mocked the pair before bringing up the fact that Ziggler always blamed everyone else for his shortcomings.
Cena said his “uniform” hasn’t changed because he’s still full of resolve, as well as ‘Hustle, Loyalty and Respect.’ He also said it was a show of respect that allowed him to toast to Dolph and AJ “with the one thing that you are full of.” He motioned to the ceiling, and a foul-smelling brown liquid (implied to be the sh*t they are full of) poured on their heads.
“I think it’s a bunch of dog food, and a bunch of other gross stuff,” Nemeth told Van Vliet. “It’s not like a big vat of movie fun stuff that smells like pudding or something; it’s gross.”
Nemeth said that wasn’t even the worst segment he was involved in
That incident seemed to be number two compared to another incident early on in his WWE career. Nemeth was part of the Spirit Squad, who often found themselves as the punchline in segments with D-Generation X.
Not only did the Spirit Squad get slimed, but the group (along with Vince and Shane McMahon) had runny “outhouse waste” poured on them on top of the RAW stage. Nemeth denied a rumor that it was a mix of real outhouse waste, but said it really did smell as bad as they made it seem.
“I think the gross, gross one was The Spirit Squad one, where we got outhouses dumped on us by DX. The rumor was it was half real outhouses, but that’s not real. But that stuff stunk and was gross. That was tons and tons of wet dog food and if you smell it, it’s gross. It’s in your hair and your ears and stuff and like, but you know what? Vince wouldn’t ask you to do something that he wasn’t gonna do. He was out there with us getting covered with it.”
