A high-risk offender has once again been released, Guelph police say in a public notice issued Thursday afternoon.
Medhani Yohans, 36, who was previously deemed a high-risk offender, was released from custody that day.
Guelph police issued a similar community notice when Yohans was released from custody in March, but he was soon arrested and charged with breaching of probation.
“His whereabouts is presently unknown,” the recent release states. “The Guelph Police Service believes that Yohans poses a risk to the community, particularly to women and is concerned that he may commit similar offences in the future.”
Yohans has a history of violence, that includes two stranger sexual assaults, it adds.
He is described as a black male, five-foot-nine, thin build with black hair and brown eyes.
Yohans has resided primarily in Guelph over the past eight years, the previous release noted.
Guelph police ask that anyone who sees him no approach, but rather call police at 519-824-1212, so officers can ensure he is abiding by his release conditions.
