MK Amit Halevi (Likud) criticized the hostage release agreement and announced he would not attend the Knesset session when Trump arrives to speak. He said that “this agreement is the opposite of victory in war. But even those who believe we were forced to sign it shouldn’t celebrate it.” Halevi added: “I am moved with every hostage who returns to their family. We can also talk about the crazy pressures from within and outside that brought us here, but under no circumstances should we celebrate. We need to tell the public the truth, bow our heads in pain and humility over the military failure, learn lessons and plan our steps to win in the future, and certainly not hold a ‘victory’ session that is all illusion and false display. Therefore, I cannot participate in the meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump and his team.”
