Lots of participants and donations

Despite a rainy and wet day in Victoria, more than 15,000 people were in today’s race according to race general manager and race director Cathy Noel.

“Being at the start line with over 1,400 volunteers involved, got everybody to the finish line,” said Noel.

Noel told CHEK News that many runner are raising money for charity, and this year the CHEK Charity Pledge program has now raised 2.5 million dollars since the inception of the program back in 2005

Of those 2.5 million dollars, $140,000 was raised this year towards select charities.
